One of my favorite parts of this conversation with Jess Wagner was how practical it was.
We covered two topics that Workday teams should be paying attention to.
First, Workday Skills.
Jess is in the “turn it on” camp.
Not because every organization has it all figured out.
But because employee-entered skills can create useful data faster than a committee can design the perfect model.
People want to be developed.
They want their manager to know what they are good at.
They also want people to know where they want to grow.
Jess shared a great example of a company finding internal employees with pilot licenses.
They already had the talent.
They just needed the data.
The second topic was Flex Credits.
Many people think about agents first.
But API calls may be the bigger surprise.
One integration run may create many underlying API calls.
So now Workday teams need to monitor usage differently.
Request the reports from Workday.
Review the heavy hitters.
Clean up integrations where you can.
And do it before renewal or billing pressure forces the issue.
The bigger lesson is that Workday teams need to understand both people data and consumption data.
