As Workday administrators, we often find ourselves explaining complex concepts or dealing with challenging situations. Having the right phrases in your toolkit can make all the difference. In this second installment of our favorite Workday phrases, I want to share some powerful expressions that can help you navigate your Workday journey more effectively.
When tackling large projects or process improvements, it’s easy to get overwhelmed by the magnitude of the task. Sometimes, we need to focus on taking just one step forward. This simple phrase helps teams stay focused on progress rather than perfection.
This is particularly relevant when organizations first implement Workday or discover new modules. Users often want everything at once – every feature, every capability, every module. Just like you can’t eat all the candy at once, we need to prioritize and implement changes strategically.
This is a crucial reminder that changes in various Workday modules – whether in Benefits, Time & Absence, or elsewhere – ultimately impact payroll. It’s essential to keep your payroll team informed and involved in configuration changes across the system.
One of the most important principles to remember is that Workday is a tool to solve problems, not the solution itself. We need to understand the real business needs first, then determine if and how Workday can address them, rather than trying to force every problem into a Workday-shaped box.
What phrases do you find yourself often using? I’d love to hear them! We can all learn from others.
These phrases help us communicate more effectively, make better decisions, and build more sustainable solutions in Workday.
