One theme keeps coming up in my AI conversations.

Workday professionals need to think bigger than Workday.

In this week’s episode of Workday Gold, I talked with Andy Turnbull from Wave1.

Andy has seen the ecosystem from both sides.

He started in Workday consulting, then moved customer-side into People Tech and People Operations leadership.

That gave him a broader view of what companies actually need.

And one of his key points was simple.

It is no longer just about Workday.

AI is forcing companies to rethink enterprise architecture.

Where does the data live?

Where does the work happen?

What should the employee experience look like?

And which system is really the front door?

Workday will likely remain a critical system of record.

But AI may change how employees interact with that data.

That creates a big opportunity for Workday admins and consultants.

Your skills are broader than configuration.

You understand process, data, experience, and transformation.

The challenge is to keep learning and think end to end.
